‘It was an emotional race: Bong’musa Mthembu
What a great weekend crammed full of high emotion sport for all South Africans.
On Saturday, the Boks affected one of the biggest comebacks since the Apollo 13.
Well done to Siya Kolisi and his team for bouncing back from a 24-3 down horror start.
On Sunday, the Blitz Bokke turned the tables on Fiji in Paris -with a dramatic come from behind sevens series win.
Welgedaan Philip Snyman – en sy manne .
But the real highlight for me was taking a drive through to the Moses Mabhida stadium to watch the comrades winners run into the stadium.
The stadium erupted as Bong’musa Mthembu entered.
The atmosphere was pure electric – a deafening roar – goose bumps stuff.High emotion.
It was one of those magic moments in sport – and great to see all South Africans united as one again – in one of our magical stadiums.
Well done to Bong’musa who destroyed the rest of the field – winning by nearly 7 minutes from second placed Joseph Mphuthi – despite having to overcome the high emotions of losing a close friend while training in the Drakensburg in March.
Sport consumes our human emotions.
When positively harnessed Emotional ‘E’ Power can deliver awe- inspiring results
Well done to Ann Ashworth on a superb down run – and affecting the SA double.
It was great weekend for SA sport – a great weekend for all South Africans.
Who says ‘Ramaphoria’ is slowing down?
It has only just begun…………
AN IDEA FOR CAPE TOWN : Given the huge success of using Durban’s Moses Mabhida stadium as a finishing point – surely it’s time for Cape Town to change the route for their Two Oceans race. Start on the Blue Route and allow the runners to track both oceans, right round to finish in the Cape Town Stadium – forget Constantia Neck and the winding run down to UCT .The Two Oceans race deserves a better stadium finish.
Key Insight
Emotional ‘E’ Power has the ability to dramatically change performance levels – often turning the underdog into the chief destroyer.
