Turnarounds usually take three years.
That’s the norm in business and sport – with even more time required in politics.
Hats off then to President Cyril Ramaphosa who has taken tremendous strides in YEAR ONE – against all the odds.
At this year’s Davos ,World Economic Forum, TEAM SOUTH AFRICA walked tall.
Just one year into what Cyril Ramaphosa has themed as ‘’SOUTH AFRICA’S RENEWAL’ – he had most people listening with more than open ears.
He told them about YEAR ONE – the progress made.
He told them about what is still coming for – and from BRAND SOUTH AFRICA.
Alec Hogg, himself a 16 year Davos veteran, expressed his heartfelt feelings:
It was confident, it was humble, it had a sense of humour and it was the right people. People you could engage and listen to so, I felt very proud to be a South African for the first time in quite a long time.
Then it was off to India for Cyril Ramaphosa in his quest to continue rebuilding foreign relations and attract the magical 100 billion dollars his special investment envoys are aiming for by 2022.
Talking to some of India’s wealthiest business people, President Ramaphosa had the following to add to a remarkable brand renewal story:
I can see, I can smell, I can almost touch those people who are going to help us. If you want me to go touch them, I will even do that.

As Ramaphosa alluded to at a recent foreign investment conference in Sandton:

I cannot wait for the next two years to see just how far BRAND SOUTH AFRICA can go …….
