Why Covid-19? What the world is messaging

As the world re-opens – and we begin a challenging exit  from the Covid -19 tunnel – one question begs asking:

Why Covid-19?

Here are SIX shared thoughts on what the world is messaging……………

#1: An opportunity to change our ways.

Robin Sharma sums it up best:

We are being asked by the world to shift from human doings to human beings again.

#2: An opportunity to find more balance.

Hendrik du Toit described Covid-19 lockdown akin to

Putting our world into an induced coma.

It’s as if our natural resources needed a period of intense rehabilitation.

A slowdown was needed.

Hopefully, we will now all think twice before we do things in our environment.

Our skies are clear – our oceans blue.

The exponential explosion in digital has resulted in less need to travel.  .

But, are Zoom, Firefly and Microsoft really the answer?

The answer is NO.

As human emotional beings we will always seek that ‘human touch’.

We need to find more balance in everything we do – as balance is what creates wellness – imbalance is what creates illness.

#3: An opportunity to become more learnt.

With so much time on our hands, internet usage has exponentially exploded.

There’s very little that one cannot research on the net.

New technological tools continue to emerge at an alarming speed.

It’s been a time to bolster ones skill set.

A time to become more learnt in one’s particular field of expertise  – to enable one to  impact more positively on our world.

#4: An opportunity to be grateful for big and small things.

Matthew McConaughey’s now famous Oscar winning speech had this pearl of wisdom:

Gratitude reciprocates – it’s a scientific fact

When one practices being grateful, opportunities come in abundance, regularly and effortlessly.

Covid-19 has taught us about the big and small blessings in our lives – creating more time and space – to invite more of what you really desire into your life.

#5: An opportunity to unite in common purpose.

It’s not often that the world comes together to declare an urgent common concern as more important than individual country differences.

There comes a time when we heed a certain call. When the world must come together as one. There are people dying. Oh, and it’s time to lend a hand to life. The greatest gift of all: USA AFRICA lyrics.

#6: An opportunity to do life better.

Covid19 crashed into our lives giving us all the time to RETHINK, RE- IMAGINE & RE-BOOT–  giving us all the opportunity to grow.

We were gifted the time to think about our priorities in health and life – something few of us invested much time in prior to Covid.

Can you clearly articulate your Purpose, your Priorities and your Performance Goals for 2020 and beyond?

They may have changed dramatically.

It’s been a time to grow.

Lot’s may have changed in your life – for the better.

It’s not all bad if we take heed of the message.

Thanks Covid-19………

It would be great to get your personal perspective on Covid-19 as well.
